The operational intelligence library for mid-market leaders.
Every Tuesday issue delivers the complete framework in Part 1. The HQ Vault exists for subscribers who want the tools that implement the frameworks, the editorial intelligence behind the publication, and the benchmark data that makes the HQ Score more useful over time.
What's inside the HQ Vault?
Tuesday Issue - Part II
Every Tuesday's Headroom HQ issue consists of two parts - Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 covers the basics and framework. Part 2 includes implementation, actionable pointers, case studies, and more in detail.
Publishing Cadence: Every other Tuesday of the month.
The Hard Question Verdict
Every Tuesday issue ends with a Hard Question—a real operational dilemma that has no obvious right answer. The free issue presents both sides. The Headroom HQ's team publishes the editorial position, including what the team actually thinks, stated without hedging, with specific reasoning on the topic.
Publishing Cadence: Monthly.
The Founder’s Desk Notes
Before the public launch of every Tuesday's issue, HQ Vault members receive a 250-word note on the reasoning for why this framework was chosen, what was cut from all the previous drafts, and what the editorial team's unfiltered thoughts were when the issue was written. It is written in the same direct voice as the issues, without the editorial constraints of publication.
Publishing Cadence: 24 hours before the Tuesday issue every month.
The HQ Score Intelligence Layer
The HQ Score Longitudinal Tracker: It is a pre-built customizable Google Sheets template for tracking your HQ Score across quarterly assessments with dimension-level trend charts.
Extended Benchmark Data (launching in End of Q3 2026 / Q4 2026): All 10 HQ Dimension scores benchmarked against the complete available dataset, with industry and revenue-stage breakdowns updated quarterly.
The Annual HQ Personalized Review (launching in December 2027): Every December, a personalized comparison of your current score against your score from 12 months prior, benchmarked against the dataset is shared with our HQ Vault members exclusively.
Publishing Cadence: Quarterly for Extended Benchmark Data and Annually for HQ Personalized Review.
The HQ Book Club
Every month, Headroom HQ's team reviews an industry-specific book relevant to operational professionals and publishes the book synthesis. The first 6 months of HQ Book Club synthesis will be available for free on the website. The complete archive and all future synthesis are HQ Vault-exclusive.
If you would like to recommend any industry-specific books that can be covered through the HQ Book Club, we would love to hear it. Reach out to us at hello@theheadroomhq.com with your suggestions.

The Character Board Vote
Every quarter, HQ Vault members vote on one fictional universe narrative decision. The vote result directly shapes the next case study featuring that company.
