Headroom HQ is an operational intelligence institution dedicated to understanding, measuring, and improving organizational effectiveness for mid-market companies. It covers operational frameworks in each issue through a case study from one of six fictional companies listed under the HQ Universe.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Headroom HQ has one editorial principle that governs every decision about what to cover and how to cover it for every issue.
The principle is that frameworks should be specific enough to be tested. A framework that cannot be tested against your specific organization—one that produces a different answer depending on whether it applies to you or not is not a framework. It is an observation.
Every Headroom HQ framework includes the specific conditions that determine whether it applies to your situation, the specific questions that tell you whether your operation has the gap it addresses, and the specific actions that close the gap. The fictional case study format exists to create the specificity that makes the testing possible.

- You are a VP of Operations, Head of Operations, COO, or Director of Operations who is accountable for the systems, vendors, team, processes, and technology that make the company work.
- You want frameworks that are designed specifically for the operational complexity of companies ranging from $10M to $200M in revenue, which are not adapted from enterprise playbooks and not stretched up from startup advice.
