Hard Question
In Week 3 of Anika Patel's observation phase at Northgate Services Group, Anika identifies a significant process failure.
It was not a theoretical risk but an active failure occurring daily and costing the company approximately $12k/month. She brings it to Diana Reyes. She wants to fix it immediately.
Diana has two choices:
- Allow Anika to deviate from the observation-only protocol to address this specific urgent issue.
- Hold the protocol and address it herself while keeping Anika in observation mode.
If she allows the deviation, she risks establishing a precedent that the observation phase can be suspended whenever something urgent arises. If she holds the protocol and fixes it herself, she misses the opportunity to test Anika under real conditions and adds to her own workload.
